This medieval stronghold contains both a castle and a village. There are many remains to be found over seven hectares: the keep, Tour du Brau, the Chapel of Saint Blaise, the Paravelle Tower built against the north-east wall and jutting out over the dovecote, the Bannes Tower and the Saracen Tower … Throughout this journey to the heart of the Middle Ages, visitors are surrounded by history, discovering the catapult, the trebuchet – the biggest medieval siege machine standing 10 metres high – and the battering ram which would break down the gates of towns and fortresses, whilst protecting the assailants under its heavy wheeled framework.
