Opposite the Visitors’ Centre, in an old hotel founded in 1818 by Sergeant-Major Cotton, the Wax Museum contains realistic scenes set around the main protagonists in the battle: the marshals huddled over the map of operations, Napoleon and his Mameluke, the soldiers, the main military leaders…
The heroes of the battles are immortalised as wax figures made by artists from the Musée Grévin (a well-known wax museum in Paris), which allow visitors to put faces to the names of the protagonists in the Battle of Waterloo.
An audio commentary accompanying the tour of the museum is available in 3 languages; collectors’ items are also on offer.
