Educational formulas

Groups are invited to choose one of the two formulas offered:
• Formula 1: show + 1 workshop.
• Formula 2: show + 2 workshops.

The play-and-learn show
Arising out of research into the games, the play-and-learn show provides an interactive presentation of the various costumes and characters from Roman theatre under the Early Roman Empire (the period of the Roman Theatre in Orange).
Pupils dress up in costume and act out scenes with the play-and-learn show leaders.
The educational aim is to demonstrate the importance of the theatre in the Roman Empire, not only as a form of entertainment, but also as a social link between the various peoples comprising the Empire.

Educational workshops
The 5 workshops on offer, run by specialists in ancient history, are based on school curricula. Groups can choose between 1 and 2 workshops to make up their educational formula.
Oil lamp: each pupil makes a small oil lamp, inspired by archaeological finds, and can take away what he/she has made.
Fibula: pupils make their own pin, the essential adornment of Roman dress.
Writing: pupils can be initiated into the art of calligraphy using various media and instruments (clay writing tablet with wedge-shaped writing instrument, wax tablet with stylus, etc.).
Mosaics: a presentation of the history of the various techniques used by the Romans and the making of a mosaic by the pupils.
Masks: pupils make a Roman theatrical mask based on iconographic research. They then work on the various characteristics of the masks.
